L. contacted me on Facebook, and I recognized her name right away: I had done her first maternity photo shoot in Tahiti three years earlier.
The fact that she reached out to me again for her second pregnancy means a lot to me for three reasons:
First of all, because it gives me the chance to meet the baby they were waiting for the first time.
Also because this means going back to their family’s valley, and those are the kinds of places where I feel especially in my place. In the shade of the trees, lulled by the sound of water trickling between the rocks.
Finally, because it means being a part of a family that trusts me to watch them grow ✨
We did this second maternity photo shoot in Tahiti just like the first one: with the family dog and in the same valley. It was an intimate and simple session set among waterfalls and a river, rocks and lush greenery. Light filtered through the raindrops and leaves, and the big brother’s laughter and whispers embraced the rounded belly.
Thank you, L&A, for your trust and for welcoming me back to your home valley once again, before this new upheaval.
