For Amateur Photographers

Photography courses to capture images with intention

Do you have a camera that you use in AUTO mode? Have you tried other modes but feel lost? Have you managed to take superb photos but don’t know how, and can’t reproduce the results? Or do you simply wish to start photography and improve your skills? If you are in Tahiti, then these photography courses are for you.

Photography Courses in Tahiti Open to Everyone

I have been diligently practicing photography for 13 years. As a photographer, photojournalist, and university photography lecturer, the idea of teaching more broadly has been on my mind for quite some time. I am now taking the plunge by offering group classes.

The photography courses take place in Tahiti and are open to photographers of all levels, regardless of the equipment type: compact camera, bridge camera, DSLR, mirrorless, and even mobile phones and action cameras.

Equipment is not provided. On the contrary, I encourage you to bring your own to learn and practice directly with it, and to continue improving after the courses.

Courses are open to participants aged 12 and over. Younger children may attend if accompanied by an enrolled parent.

FAQ - Photography Courses

I would love to learn photography, but I don't have a camera.

As Orelsan said, “if you want to make movies, you just need something that films.” In photography, it’s the same. If you have a mobile phone, you already have something that takes photos. With it, you will learn, for example, how to frame, manage natural light, guide models, and build a narrative during these photography courses in Tahiti.

As long as it works, yes, of course 🙂

I also practice film photography, and I would be delighted to share that. Please specify this when making contact, and whether you already have film(s) or if you need me to provide some, for an additional fee. However, for development and scanning, the films will need to be sent abroad as there are no longer any professional film labs in French Polynesia.

Yes, registrations for each course session are separate. Therefore, the participants are not necessarily the same. If the same person decides to return multiple times, I will take their progress into account to adapt the content and exercises.

Yes, a private photography course is a good idea for a small event, just as you can offer a spot in a course to the person(s) being celebrated. For a course during an event, please specify the number of people, the date, the duration, and the participants’ skill level to assess feasibility.
