Amélie, Mathieu, and their little boy came from Canada to spend Christmas in Moorea. Unlike Quebec, where they live, Christmas falls right in the middle of the hot season in French Polynesia. So early in the morning, we had a family photo session on Temae Beach in Moorea, nestled between a coconut grove and a turquoise lagoon.
Waking up earlier than usual in the morning is a challenge for a 2-year-old boy, so I made sure we all go at his pace and go along with what he wanted to do. That morning, he wanted to explore the beach on his own. The result: his toes weren’t spread out, but they were full of white sand!
In addition to being a magnificent setting for a photo session, Temae Beach is very popular with families from Tahiti and Moorea. I myself have very happy childhood memories of it, from impromptu trips here. So it was only natural that I suggested this spot for this family photo session in Moorea, before the beach welcomed its daily swimmers. The last moments on the warm sand before their return to the Canadian snow
